Agile Advice is Hacked… Working Hard to Fix It!

Hello loyal readers… over the last month we have become aware that this site has been hacked so that it sometimes displays content that is unrelated to the site itself.  We have fixed it a number of times, and we hope that we will be able to keep it fixed.  However, if you should come across content that is clearly inappropriate for this site, please let me know.  I would appreciate a screen shot or other specific information about the inappropriate content so that I can take specific action.  Please email me at mishkin at berteig consulting dot com.  Thanks!

  1. Look into non-shared services hosting.
    Also check FTP creds
    Check SQL creds
    Wordpress creds

Do audit with google from webmaster tools
and personally scan your files for this site.

All the best man. Hackers suck

    1. Yeah, right now we’re on a shared service and I’m starting to worry that might be part of the problem. I’ve done everything else you mention and I keep finding hacked theme or plug-in files. My creds are all “good” in that they are solid non-dictionary passwords which have recently been changed. Anyway, at some point I might move to non-shared hosting but then the admin burden goes up a bit… still, might be worth it for how bad things have gotten here. Currently google has banned us (used to be PR6!). Arg. Hackers suck bit time!
