This site represents a set of ideas that have come full-circle. Christopher Alexander wrote a book called "A Pattern Language: Towns, Buildings, Construction (Center for Environmental Structure Series)" about a different way of looking at architecture, interior design, landscape design and city planning. This book made a big impression on some people in the software industry. In particular, it inspired the book "Design Patterns" by Erich Gamma et. al. This book became required reading in the software industry. Many participants in the Agile Software Development movement consider it foundational. And now we see agile practices being adapted back to architecture. Cool.
